About this role
Job summary
Want to enjoy your nursing and be in the countryside?
Imagine working in a supportive rural practice where you have the time to build genuine relationships with patients, where your clinical judgement is trusted, and where you can see the difference you make. This is a part time, flexible working post 22-28 hours a week.
At Courtyard Surgery, we focus on high quality, continuity of care, professional satisfaction and good work-life balance. We are a friendly, stable and ambitious practice based in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, serving a close-knit patient population and committed to delivering high-quality, personalised care.
This is an opportunity to join a practice where your expertise will be valued, your voice will be heard, and you will have the autonomy to influence how services are delivered. You'll work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team that genuinely supports one another, in an environment where patient care comes before targets and where quality matters more than quantity.
We recognise that life outside work matters too. We offer flexible working arrangements, no routine weekend working, no bank holiday working, and the opportunity to enjoy an excellent quality of life while pursuing a rewarding and varied clinical career.
We are looking for an experienced Lead Practice Nurse and Independent Prescriber who shares our commitment to outstanding patient care and wants to play a key role in shaping the future of our nursing service.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled nurse who enjoys working autonomously, building lasting relationships with patients and playing a key leadership role within a progressive primary care team.
The successful candidate will lead and develop the nursing service, delivering long-term condition management, cervical screening, childhood and adult immunisations, travel health, health promotion and preventative care. As an Independent Prescriber, you will support safe, efficient patient care and help reduce GP workload through autonomous clinical practice.
Working closely with the GP Partner and Practice Manager, you will lead quality improvement initiatives, support achievement of QOF and other contractual requirements, maintain oversight of infection prevention and control, contribute to CQC compliance and help ensure the practice continues to deliver safe, effective and responsive services.
You will provide clinical leadership to the wider nursing team, champion evidence-based practice and help shape the future development of clinical services.
We are looking for a confident, patient-focused clinician with excellent communication skills, strong organisational abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement. In return, we offer a rewarding role within a stable and collaborative practice where your expertise, ideas and professional judgement will be genuinely valued.
