Bus Line Accessible for Seasonal workJob DescriptionThe Housekeeping Associate plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff across facilities and garden areas. Working an 8.5-hour shift with a 30-minute lunch between approximately 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. this role focuses on custodial, janitorial, and general housekeeping tasks that support an enjoyable guest experience. The position is seasonal and supports the Winter Flower Show & Light Garden Show, ending on January 3rd, 2027.Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial and janitorial tasks to maintain cleanliness, order, and safety throughout the facility and garden areas.
• Ensure all public and staff areas are clean and tidy to support an enjoyable and comfortable guest experience.
• Sweep and mop floors in common areas, offices, and other designated spaces.
• Vacuum mats and carpeted areas to remove dirt and debris.
• Dust surfaces, furniture, and light fixtures to maintain a neat appearance.
• Clean glass and metal surfaces, including doors and railings, to remove fingerprints, smudges, and streaks.
• Conduct regular bathroom checks to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of fixtures.
• Replenish restroom supplies, including soap dispensers, toilet paper, seat covers, and paper towels.
• Wipe down countertops, tables, and other high-touch surfaces.
• Collect and dispose of trash and waste from trashcans and waste bins in accordance with facility procedures.
• Use manual tools and cleaning equipment safely and effectively in various weather and environmental conditions.
• Maintain awareness of facility, office, and grounds upkeep needs and report issues as appropriate.
• Interact with guests, staff, and volunteers in a friendly and service-oriented manner while performing duties.
• Work independently when required and collaborate effectively within a team to complete cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Adhere to established procedural protocols and safety guidelines at all times.

Essential Skills

• Capability to use manual tools and cleaning equipment in a variety of weather and facility conditions.
• Knowledge of facility, office, and grounds upkeep practices.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, and tools used in cleaning and maintenance of buildings and garden areas.
• 12 years of work experience in a related field such as cleaning, janitorial, sanitation, or housekeeping.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift/carry objects up to 40 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to operate equipment, including keyboards when needed.
• Ability to read, write, analyze, and visualize information related to job duties.
• Strong work ethic in all areas of job performance.
• Ability to communicate and respond to staff, guests, and volunteers both in person and over the phone.
• Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage stress while maintaining service quality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in customer- or guest-facing cleaning or housekeeping roles.
• Ability to maintain a positive, service-oriented mindset while performing routine duties.
• Comfort working alone at times in the facility and in any area of the conservatory or growing houses.
• Ability to respond to staff and guests in a fair and professional manner.
• Willingness to follow established procedural protocols and safety standards.
• Seasonal availability through January 3rd, 2027.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
