- Summary
- Provides quality patient care.
- Supports the general, ultrasound, mammography, MRI, CT, Cath Lab, and Interventional Radiology technologists.
- Responsible for film filing and image management functions.
- Works with all departments, patients, and providers to ensure necessary images/reports are available within the EMR and PACS.
- Performs general clerical duties to maintain radiology record management.
- May assist in providing diagnostic radiographic procedures according to standards and guidelines.
Job Description
- Image management functions.
- Able to perform reception duties, including clerical and filing to include reports into patient charts, locating, retrieving, and delivering patient records when needed.
- Serves as an ambassador of goodwill in providing department services to all clinical and non-clinical personnel.
- Ability and willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensures proper protection of patient's confidential information.
- Performs image management within the PACS system, such as order entry, image reconciliation, importing/exporting imaging exams and reports.
- Knowledge of the EMR to view imaging history and to document release of imaging exams.
- Works with HIM for release of imaging records following established HIPAA rules and regulations.
- May perform mobile imaging bone density testing.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent. Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older to be eligible for employment.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, but on-the-job training will be provided. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
