You will manage a dedicated portfolio of high demanding customers and handle a wide variety of cargo destined for locations outside Europe. From specialized goods to complex international shipments, no two days are the same. You take ownership of the process, which means plenty of coordination, phone calls and emails. You build relationships easily with customers and colleagues, pick up the phone with confidence and make sure everything gets done right. You are a hands-on problem-solver who thinks ahead, spots opportunities and takes action rather than waiting for someone else to step in. Together with nine experienced freight forwarders, you keep logistics processes running smoothly and continuously look for ways to make them smarter and more efficient for our customers: You’re on it.
How you do this? As a senior freight forwarder, you take ownership of complex import and export shipments from A to Z. You monitor progress, resolve bottlenecks and take responsibility when it matters most. In doing so, you help keep customers satisfied and contribute to the growth of our SCS team. You achieve this by: handling an average of 83 shipments per month. You keep track of customer agreements and step in quickly whenever needed; ensuring quality and compliance, you make sure all freight forwarding and customs documentation is accurate and complete, taking action whenever required; staying ahead of problems: You identify risks early, proactively address shortages, delays and damage, and drive effective solutions; strengthening customer relationships and partnerships, you build lasting relationships, identify opportunities to improve supply chains and coordinate with international offices and partners; keeping communication on track, you ensure colleagues, agents and offices have the right information at the right time.
You communicate confidently in Dutch (B2 level) and English; working efficiently with logistics systems: You process shipments using CargoWise and/or Tango. Experience with these systems is an advantage.

You bring senior-level experience in a similar ocean freight, import and/or export role; the expertise and independence to manage complex international shipments from A to Z; a proactive, energetic mindset and strong sense of ownership, you take responsibility, maintain oversight and act quickly when challenges arise; a keen eye for improvement, you identify opportunities to make logistics processes and customer supply chains smarter and more efficient. strong communication skills in both Dutch (minimum B2 level) and English, spoken and written.
