Qualifications and Experience

1.1 Qualified to degree level including Qualified Teacher Status -E,A,I

1.2 To have a minimum of 1 years UK teaching experience with children under 5 -E,A,I

1.3 To have Early Years specialist training -D,A,I

1.4 To have experience working within the Early Help & Safeguarding Arena and the knowledge and skills needed to support the designated safeguarding lead and to take a lead role in family support and engagement learning, -D,A,I

Professional Knowledge and Experience

2.1 Excellent Early Years Practitioner with a thorough understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (including understanding of the revised framework) and a commitment to the highest standards of teaching and learning. -E,A,I, T

2.2 A clear understanding of how young children learn and the ability to plan effective and high-quality teaching and learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage -E,A,I

2.3 (a) An understanding of the principles and practices of observations, assessment and planning how these can be used effectively to maximize pupil progress for all groups of children. Experience of building on children’s previous knowledge and skill base. -E,A,I, T

2.3 (b) Experience of working in a team to create nursery environment spaces both outdoors and indoors that will enable children to be curious, to explore and to deeper their understanding and learning about the world around them -E,I

2.3 (c ) To have experience or a desire to support children’s learning outdoors and in a forest school environment. -D,A,I

2.4 To have experience of working with children with SEND, including children with Autism and Communication difficulties, knowledge of communication in print, wider communications systems (e.g. Makaton) would be desirable. -E,D,A,I,T

2.5 (a) Experience and Understanding of the key person role -E,A,I

2.5 (b) Experience in leading home/school partnership/transitions/induction -D,A,I

2.6 The ability to meet all children’s needs to ensure every child makes good progress, including those with English as an additional language, and children with additional or complex needs or disabilities. -E,A,I,T

2.7 The ability to manage behaviour effectively and positively using a range of strategies. -E,A,I,T

2.8 A positive approach to the outdoors and the ability to use the outdoor environment to support children’s learning across all areas of learning. -E,A,I,T

2.10 To lead by example through consistently high quality practice in all areas, including setting up and maintaining a high-quality learning environment, indoors and outside; which meets a broad range of development needs and ensures breadth, continuity and progressions -E,A,I,T

2.11 (a) The ability to model and maintain professional and positive relationships with children, staff, parents/carers, visitors, outside agencies and Governors. -E,A,I

2.11 (b) Experience in communication and implementing guidance given and also the provision of guidance to others.-D,A,I
