About this role

Looking for a role where you can actually make an impact, shape your own remit, and be trusted to take ownership? This is your chance to join a specialist manufacturing organisation supplying niche sectors, where growth is real and your contribution will matter. As Accounts Manager, you’ll step into a varied, hands-on position with exposure to month-end, management reporting, payroll, purchasing and HR systems. You’ll be part of a small, close-knit team, working alongside supportive management who value flexibility, development and trust. Flexible hours, half-day Fridays, and ad hoc remote days mean you can fit work around life – not the other way round.

If you’re looking for stability, discretion and the chance to grow with a business, this is the role for you.

Reporting to the COO, you will be responsible for:

  • Raising sales invoices, processing dispatch paperwork and updating ledgers
  • Downloading bank statements, allocating payments and completing reconciliations
  • Supporting and advising on weekly payment runs
  • Helping resolve supplier queries and supporting purchasing
  • Preparing monthly reports and producing the profit and loss account
  • Presenting financial information at management meetings and supporting business decision-making
  • Supporting the move to bring payroll processing in-house
  • Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting HR systems
  • Helping improve finance procedures as the business continues to grow

What you will need

  • Previous experience in a similar accounts or finance role (such as Accounts Manager, Finance Manager, Finance Officer, Accounts Supervisor)
  • AAT qualified or studying, or early-stage CIMA/ACCA studier
  • Manufacturing or SME experience advantageous
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong communication, organisation and attention to detail

What you will get

  • 25 days annual leave plus eight bank holidays
  • Flexible start and finish times, with half-day Fridays
  • Ongoing development and training, plus study support
  • Potential for hybrid working (one day per week from home once established)
  • Free on-site parking
