About this role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join our fantastic team at Pioneer House High School

This is a permanent Grade 6 position, working 35 hours per week, all year round.The starting salary is£33,143 per annum, and the role will commence as soon as pre-employment checks are complete.

We’re looking for:

We are seeking a reliable, proactive and skilled Site Manager to take responsibility for the maintenance, safety and security of our school premises.

This is a vital role in ensuring our school environment is safe, clean and fully operational, enabling our pupils to thrive.

You will:

Have significant experience in a senior caretaking or site supervisory roleDemonstrate strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHHIdeally have experience working within a school or similar environmentBe confident in managing contractors and supervising staffHave strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise maintenance programmesHold a full UK driving licenceHave (or be willing to work towards) relevant Health & Safety qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH, First Aid, Fire Safety)Experience of budget management, preparing costed maintenance plans and contract management would be advantageous.Main purpose of the role:

You will support the Headteacher and Trust Head of Estates by ensuring the school site, buildings and facilities are maintained and operated in line with the Trust’s estate strategy.

You will take a lead role in ensuring high standards of health and safety, compliance, maintenance, security and site management across the school.

Key responsibilities will include:

Leading the day-to-day management of the school site, including maintenance, cleaning, security and groundsManaging and supervising site staff and external contractors, ensuring high standards of workActing as a key holder, overseeing security systems including alarms and CCTVEnsuring all planned, preventative and statutory maintenance is completed and recordedCarrying out and overseeing health and safety checks, including fire systems, emergency lighting and compliance monitoringManaging estates systems, records and compliance documentationSupporting budget planning and monitoring, ensuring value for moneyOverseeing site lettings, contractor performance and service deliveryEnsuring the site remains safe and accessible, including during adverse weather conditionsSupporting the delivery of capital works, repairs and improvement projectsTo find out more about the full responsibilities of the role and/or to ensure you meet the essential criteria, please review the attached job description.
