About the Role
- The main objective of the Transport Dispatcher is to oversee the organization of daily transport operations for store deliveries from the Distribution Center (DC).
- This includes ensuring that delivery schedules are met and that transport partners have the necessary resources to execute the transport plan.
- Key Responsibilites Monitor transport operations and ensure they run on time; take corrective action in case of process disruptions (e.g., warehouse delays, late truck arrivals, or other delivery-related issues).
- Communicate dock scheduling plans to warehouse colleagues.
- Coordinate pre-loading activities and yard management (truck and trailer parking).
- Provide transport documentation and instructions to drivers.
- Ensure transport partners comply with on-site safety regulations.
- Act as a backup for the Transport Team Lead during their absence.
- Maintain operational and performance data (e.g., arrival/departure times) required for transport partner invoicing and/or performance reporting.
- Participate in weekly meetings with transport partners or provide input for such meetings.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in an accounting assistant, sales administration, or transport administration role.
- English language skills are desirable.
- Previous experience in transport planning would be an advantage.
- Candidate Profile Punctual and disciplined.
- Cost-conscious and aware of work-related costs (e.g., minimizing waiting times and process disruptions).
- Pragmatic problem-solver, capable of addressing issues such as no-shows, late arrivals, and warehouse delays, while effectively prioritizing tasks and issues.
