About this role
We are looking for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team at Barna Transport. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing the company’s fleet of trucks and other heavy goods vehicles. Duties will include carrying out routine inspections and scheduled maintenance; diagnosing mechanical, electrical and electronic faults; repairing and replacing engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension and other vehicle components; using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment; and keeping accurate records of inspections, repairs and maintenance work.
The candidate must be able to identify faults, carry out repairs safely and efficiently, follow manufacturers’ instructions and workplace health and safety procedures, and maintain a clean and organised work area. Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, reliability and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Previous experience in the servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles is required.
