DESCRIPTION
Provide coaching and support to student athletes and assistance to his/her designated supervisor(s). The coach will provide leadership, instruction, supervision, and guidance to student-athletes while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, academic responsibility, character development, and student safety.
The coach is responsible for conducting practices and contests, supervising student-athletes, maintaining appropriate communication with the Athletic Department and families, and ensuring compliance with district, NJSIAA, league, and school policies and regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Substitute Teaching Certificate
- Prior High School Coaching experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the applicable sport.
- Ability to effectively lead, instruct, and supervise high school student-athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Athletic Director, administration, coaches, athletic trainers, students, and families.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
- Successful Criminal History Clearance
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable.
Before beginning coaching, will be required to obtain the following certifications:
- CPR/AED/First Aid
- NFHS Concussion Awareness
- Heat Illness
- Implicit Bias Cert
- Fundamentals of Coaching Cert
- BeNice Cert
- Additional certifications or training may be required based on applicable state, NJSIAA, or district requirements.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT & COMPENSATION
Stipened as determined by the FTEA/BOE collective bargaining agreement. Season begins 11/16/2026, Head Boys Basketball Coach $12,197.43 stipend.
This is a temporary, seasonal coaching assignment with a fixed stipend for the contracted sport season. This position does not include year-round employment, benefits, or guaranteed continued assignment beyond the designated season/ contracted period. Stipend and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement.
