JOB SUMMARY
Provide maintenance to school facilities, grounds and athletic fields.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment and tools such as, but not limited to, mowers, aerator, string trimmers, top dresser, fertilization spreader, backhoe and vehicles.
- Conduct pre-game preparation including field lay out and post-game repair of athletic fields including, but not limited to, football, baseball, field hockey, lacrosse and soccer fields.
- Perform landscaping practices, including but not limited to, maintaining planting beds, shrub and tree care.
- Conduct maintenance to playgrounds for safety.
- Maintain small and large equipment and tools including but not limited to tractors, golf carts, paint machines and District vehicles (utilized by the grounds crew), ensuring cleanliness, proper fluid levels and that all equipment is in safe working order.
- Maintain and repair all traffic control signs, road markings and assist with the maintenance and repairs of roadway and exterior building lighting.
- Perform snow and ice removal activities including but not limited to the use of hand tools, snow blowers and plowing.
- Perform various duties including but not limited to interior and exterior painting and moving of equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job sites and District events.
- Assist maintenance and custodial staff for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent necessary
2 year experience in managing turf grass on athletic fields with construction, renovation, irrigation and growing.
Valid PA Driver's license required
Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code)
FBI Criminal History Record
Submission of a clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to reach above and below the waist
Ability to use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects

Ability to lift and/or carry supplies weighing 75 lbs. or more
Ability to stoop, kneel, and crawl
Ability to mostly sit with some walking, standing or moving throughout the district

PAY
$19.37 - $24.13 per hour (commensurate with experience)
