Position: AVID Elective Tutorial Facilitator
Classification: Part-Time
Location: Grandview C-4 School District- Grandview High School, Grandview Middle School and Martin City K-8
Purpose and Summary
The purpose of the AVID Tutorial Facilitator position is to support high-quality implementation of the AVID program by providing targeted academic support to AVID students during tutorial sessions. AVID Tutorial Facilitators play a critical role in strengthening student learning, reinforcing academic skills, and supporting college and career readiness. The AVID tutorial process is designed to support students in developing organization, writing, study skills, and critical thinking across content areas.
Essential Duties
- Facilitate small-group AVID tutorial sessions.
- Guide students through inquiry and questioning rather than providing answers.
- Support students in developing problem-solving, critical-thinking, and collaborative learning skills.
- Encourage positive academic habits and college and career readiness.
- Collaborate with the AVID Elective teacher to support student learning.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with middle and/or high school students.
- Dependable, professional, patient, and encouraging.
- Ability to complete district employment and background requirements.
- Must complete 16 hours of AVID Tutor Orientation and Training provided by the district.
Schedule
Part-time during the regular school day. Days and hours will be based on AVID Elective course schedules and district needs. This is an in-person position, remote work is not available.
Compensation
Tutors will be paid $19.60-$23.59: Hourly, part-time positions dependent on assigned hours
