Walpole Public Schools seeks an Extended-Day 1:1 Aide at Elm Street School, Monday-Friday, 7:00-9:00 am and 3:00-6:00 pm, effective immediately for the 2026-2027 school year.
Summary: To provide social and behavioral support to specific students with high-need disabilities within the Extended Day program. Student assignment is determined by Extended Day and District administration. Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensuring a safe environment for the assigned student.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and potentially engage in moderate physical activity.
- Engaging the student in basic de-escalation techniques if the student is dysregulated.
- Consulting with extended day staff as needed regarding the student's needs.
- Reporting to extended day staff any issues or behaviors that would typically be reported to parents.
Qualifications
- College graduate preferred
- Safety Care trained preferred
- Ability to effectively engage students with high level of need due to disability
- Fingerprint verification required
