Our client, Michael F. Quirke & Sons Unlimited Company, based in Killorglin, Co. Kerry, is currently seeking Boiler Makers for immediate start at their facility in Killorglin, Co. Kerry. Key Role
Responsibilities & Functions
- To fabricate, assemble, install and repair boilers, pressure vessels, tanks and other heavy steel structures, working from drawings and specifications to the required quality and safety standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication specifications
- Cut, shape, fit and weld steel plate, tube and pipework
- Install, maintain and repair boilers and associated components
- Carry out inspections and tests, and report any defects
- Interpret general arrangement and fabrication drawings, weld maps, isometrics and WPS/WPQR documentation
- Mark out, cut, form, fit up and align plate, tube, pipe and structural sections to specified tolerances
- Weld pressure parts and structural components using the qualified processes below, to the correct procedure, preheat and interpass requirements
- Remove and replace corroded or damaged tubes, panels and plate sections during repair and outage work
- Support inspection and testing, including visual inspection, NDT (MT, PT, UT, RT), hydrostatic and pressure testing, and PWHT where applicable
- Work to site safety systems, including permits to work, risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), hot work, confined space entry and working at height
Requirements – Skills & Experience
- Competency to carry out all role duties listed above to a high standard
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Boilermaker or in heavy steel fabrication
- Relevant Welding certification
- Ability to work from drawings and to tight tolerances
- Experience in plate and pipe welding in multiple positions in tube-to-tubesheet welding
- Able to read and work from complex drawings, with accurate use of measuring and setting-out equipment
- Experience of shutdowns, turnarounds and boiler outage work Annual Remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay Rate €18.05 per hour Work Location: Michael F. Quirke & Sons Unlimited Company, Rangue, Killorglin, Co. Kerry, V93 XA31.
