About this role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to develop as a Youth Worker. You need to be passionate about supporting young people with diverse and complex needs, including SEMH, SEND and those requiring additional pastoral support, while completing a fully funded Level 6 Youth Work Degree Apprenticeship.
We are seeking a committed and inspiring individual to join our Access & Inclusion Department as a Teaching Instructor & Youth Work Degree Apprentice based within our Internal Alternative Provision (IAP): “The Base”. The three year apprenticeship will enable qualification at Degree Level, with “learning on the job” linked to university and guided learning.
About the Role
You will play a key role in creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment, helping students to re-engage with education and achieve positive personal, social and academic outcomes.
Working across the IAP and school Behaviour Teams, you will:
Contribute to personalised learning programmes and reintegration pathwaysDeliver targeted teaching and learning support to individuals and small groupsProvide mentoring and youth work interventions focused on wellbeing, resilience and life skillsBuild strong, trusting relationships with students as a positive role modelSupport students’ engagement, behaviour, emotional regulation and personal developmentWork collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies
This is a unique dual-role, combining education and youth work practice, with the opportunity to apply theory directly to your day-to-day work whilst qualifying at degree level.

Has a passion for working with young people, particularly those with additional or complex needs
Is calm, resilient, empathetic and flexible in their approachCan build strong professional relationships with students, families and colleaguesHas experience (or a strong interest in) mentoring, pastoral support or alternative provisionIs committed to completing a Youth Work Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6)Can work both independently and as part of a team
