As a Senior Ship Design Engineer, you will develop essential ship plans and ensure they meet technical requirements and maritime regulations. You will work in an international engineering environment where technical expertise, teamwork and quality are key. Vacancy information As Senior Ship Design Engineer will join a Basic Engineering team in the Netherlands, working on complex shipbuilding projects. Your main focus will be developing technical plans, including General Arrangement Plans, Fire Safety Plans and Watertight Integrity Plans, and supporting their approval by clients and classification societies.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and updating technical ship plans using 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Reviewing technical specifications, classification rules and customer requirements.
- Ensuring that ship plans comply with applicable maritime regulations and standards.
- Working closely with other engineering disciplines to develop practical technical solutions.
- Identifying technical challenges and discussing solutions with the Lead Engineer.
- Supporting the approval process with clients and classification societies.
- Contributing to improvements in engineering processes and working methods.
