About this role
The Role
Following the internal promotion of a long standing teaching assistant, we are seeking a positive, enthusiastic, and flexible Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will work initially in Key Stage 1 and 2, supporting pupils both in class and during break and lunchtimes.
This role will include:
1:1 support for children with communication and interaction and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them access the curriculum both inside and outside the classroomSupporting individual pupils and small groupsDelivering targeted interventions (following training)Assisting with lessons from across the curriculumProviding feedback to teachersSupervising and engaging with pupils during non-teaching timesSupporting pupils with communication, interaction, and SEMH needsAssisting with intimate care (including toileting, where necessary)What We’re Looking For

A flexible and proactive approachAbility to work independently and as part of a teamSensitivity to the needs of all childrenWillingness to undertake First Aid and other relevant trainingBasic qualifications in English and maths (Level 1 or 2) or a commitment to achieve them within two yearsUnderstanding of phonics or willingness to learnDiscretion and confidentialityAvailability for staff meetings and training
