- About the job We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and practical person to join us in carrying out garden maintenance and lawn care throughout Mid-Kerry and Killarney.
- This is a hands-on, outdoor role for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing a good job and is comfortable working in changeable Irish weather.
- Some previous gardening or grounds maintenance experience is essential, but we are happy to train the right person who has a positive attitude, is willing to learn and takes their responsibilities seriously.
- You will work at different properties throughout the area, helping to maintain gardens and outdoor spaces to a high standard.
- Main duties; Lawn mowing, strimming and general lawn care.
- Hedge trimming, pruning and weeding.
- General garden maintenance and seasonal work.
- Safe use and care of gardening machinery.
- Keeping gardens and work areas tidy.
- Working efficiently and taking pride in the quality of your work.
- The person we're looking for The ideal candidate will be: Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Experienced in basic gardening, lawn care or similar outdoor work.
- Physically fit and comfortable with practical, outdoor work.
- Happy to work in rain, cold and changeable weather when conditions are safe.
- Willing to learn new skills and operate machinery safely.
- Attentive to detail and committed to doing a good job.
- Able to work well with others and follow instructions.
- A full driving licence is an advantage.
- Working hours and weather; This is a full-time position, with a typical working week of approximately 39 hours, depending on workload and weather conditions.
- Hours may vary from week to week, and working hours may reduce during the winter months when weather conditions are unpredictable.
- We work outdoors throughout the year where conditions allow.
- However, we do not work during storms or flooding, and work may be postponed when conditions are unsafe.
- Flexibility and an understanding of the seasonal nature of gardening work are important.
- Travel and equipment; Work takes place at different locations throughout Mid-Kerry and Killarney.
- We meet at an agreed base and travel to the day's jobs together.
- All main gardening machinery and equipment are supplied by the business.
- You do not need to purchase or bring your own lawnmower, strimmer, hedge trimmer or other main machinery.
- We will explain any requirements for suitable work clothing and footwear before you start.
