About this role

Job description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Workplace Coach with experience within an Engineering Mechatronics Maintenance environment to be part of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre Training Centre Team.

You will join the delivery team and will be responsible for the workplace coaching throughout the whole of the apprenticeship programme for Engineering Apprentices Levels 3 to 6.

This role will be based remotely and will involve the Workplace Coach travelling to a selection of apprentice employer’s sites.

You will

Be Qualified to Level 6 in an engineering (or related) discipline. To possess significant experience of technical work in a Mechatronics Maintenance engineering setting. To hold a teaching/coaching/assessor qualification or have a willingness to undertake such a qualification on start. To be competent in the use of IT such as Laptops, Tablets and Smartphones and software as these are crucial tools used as part of the working day for a Workplace Coach. To have the ability to assess and organise resources and plan and progress work activities.

As an Engineering Workplace Coach you will be required to carry out the assessment and coaching of engineering apprentices onsite at employers premises.

Engineering Workplace Coaches are expected to support enrichment activities and any Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths events to promote the AMRC Training Centre. Some of these will be out of normal working hours.
