Job summary
St Andrews Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or Advanced Paramedic Practitioner (APP) to join our friendly and forward-thinking primary care team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled autonomous practitioner to work within a supportive multidisciplinary environment delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to our local population.
The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively alongside GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and the wider practice team to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
We are looking for a motivated clinician with excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills who is passionate about providing accessible, safe, and effective care in general practice.
Main duties of the job
Undertake autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients
Manage acute presentations and same-day urgent care appointments
Order and interpret diagnostic investigations
Refer appropriately to secondary and community services
Support chronic disease management and preventative healthcare
Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and service development
Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team
About us
St. Andrew's is a large (16000), very busy practice. There is a large multi-disciplinary team including 4 GP partners, 4 salaried GPs, ANPs, APPs, physiotherapist, pharmacists and a team of nurses and HCAs as well as a very supportive admin team.

To provide advanced clinical care as an autonomous practitioner working within the multidisciplinary primary care team. The postholder will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions across all age groups where appropriate.
The role includes health promotion, disease prevention, clinical leadership, and supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and responsive patient care.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Must be a NMC or HCPC registered nurse or paramedic Must have clinical skills and/or prescribing qualification
