We are looking for an exceptional Deputy Chief People Officer - Operational People Services to join our senior People leadership team and play a pivotal role in delivering modern, high impact People services across the organisation.

Main duties of the job
As Deputy CPO, you will:
Lead the delivery of high quality, insight-driven operational People services Oversee key functions including: HR Business Partnering Employee Relations & Investigations Medical Staffing Recruitment & Workforce Supply HR Operations Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team Drive a "staff voice to action" approach, using workforce insight to inform decisions Lead complex organisational change and workforce transformation programmes Champion a Just and Learning Culture, embedding fairness, openness and continuous improvement You will play a critical role in ensuring our People services are:
Modern and digitally enabledEfficient and outcome-focusedAligned to workforce priorities and organisational strategy

You will bring:
Significant senior HR/People leadership experience A strong track record in: Organisational change and transformation Managing complex employee relations Leading multi disciplinary HR teams Deep expertise in employment law and workforce frameworks The ability to: Influence at Executive and Board level Translate strategy into delivery Use data and insight to drive improvement You will be:

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Masters in HRM or equivalent experience FCIPD qualified or equivalent experience
Knowledge Essential
Extensive knowledge organisational change management Understanding of HR issues within the NHS, or other public sector organisation Expert knowledge of Employment Law Proven project management skills, leading HR elements of large scale organisational change Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills
Experience Essential
Proven experience of managing organisational change projects Previous experience of senior HR lead role in a large environment Experience of working in a heavily unionised environment Management of a range of HR teams Budget management Extensive experience as an HR generalis Experience of preparing and presenting HR plans
