General Practitioner with an Extended Role (GPwER) to provide Initial Health Assessments for Looked after Children
Community Children's Services - Manchester
We are pleased to invite applications from an experienced and motivated General Practitioner with an Extended Role (GPwER) to join our community children's services in Manchester. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in shaping highly coordinated, patient-centred community care for children and young people with complex needs.
You will be an established GP with knowledge of local community services, and will work collaboratively as part of a wider team of clinicians and operational colleagues. You will use your excellent communication skills, to lead and support operational delivery of initial health assessments in Manchester and Trafford.

About the role
You will provide one weekly Initial Health Assessments (IHAs) for Looked After Children (LAC). Operating within a patient-centred ethos, with the goal of empowering children to take control and self-manage their health, the GPwER will undertake the initial health assessment and determine and enable any further support needed.
