Specialist Cardiac Radiographer -Cath Labs - Band 612 month fixed termBart's Heart and Thorax Centre (BHTC) are currently seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic Cardiac Cath Labs trained Radiographer who is looking for the opportunity to join a friendly, hard-working, ambitious and highly skilled team of Radiographers within the largest Cardiovascular Centre in Europe.The Cardiac Imaging department boasts a wealth of state-of-the-art equipment, with eleven Cardiac Catheter Labs and endovascular theatre, three dedicated Cardiac MRI scanners, and a dedicated photon counting Cardiac CT scanner, networking and expanding our services across the Trust. We are proud to lead the way in world-first procedures using latest technological advances and undertaking ground-breaking research and live broadcasting of cases for educational meetings and congresses. We support and encourage our Radiographers to be involved in publishing research and representing us at conferences both in the UK and around the World.
Main duties of the job
This 12 month fixed term post is based within Cardiac Catheter labs where you will cover cases in complex coronary intervention, structural heart intervention, electrophysiology and pacing, as well as endovascular cases in the cardiothoracic theatre, with the potential for future progression to Cardiac CT and Cardiac CMR.Within BHTC Cath Labs, we provide 24 hour Heart Attack and Arrhythmia services via 3 call systems. As part of this fast paced, exciting role you would be a key member of the MDT, offering life-changing, life-saving diagnosis and treatment to patients from London and beyond.The working pattern of this post is comprised of 4x 9.5hr shifts per week, with optional weekend lists on staff bank.As one of the largest cardiac centres in the world, our highly specialised Radiography team has the expertise required to provide excellent training, mentoring and on-going support for the successful applicants. Excellent written communication skills Excellent verbal communication skills Advanced knowledge in a range of Cardiac Cath Lab Imaging techniques and innovations. Demonstrate awareness of responsibility to and advocacy for patients. Teaching and training skills with the ability to adapt training and teaching styles in response to needs of the trainee. Team player with enthusiasm for Cardiac radiography, with the ability to engage staff at all levels. PACS, RIS and CRS knowledge and experience. IT skills, with advanced levels of understanding of Microsoft office. Demonstrate enthusiasm and have the ability to motivate others. Ability to work under pressure whilst subject to interruption. Willingness to embrace new ideas and concepts. Very high personal and radiographic standards, with attention to detail. Ability to use own initiative, solve problems and make decisions. Evidence of participation in QA Programme and maintenance of agreed standards. Good Understanding of legislation relating to Health & Safety and Radiation Protection.

Requirement to work full time (37.5hrs), 4 x 9.5hr shifts, with 1 rota'd day off per week. (In line with AfC terms, when covering AMI or EP on call this day off will be scheduled immediately following the on call) Requirement to work some late duties, participate in the out of hours on call rota and weekend waiting list initiatives as required. (Must have suitable provision in place to accommodate required 1 hr response time to site for on call service) Requirement to be able to manage own workload and diary. Sufficient to perform the duties of the post with any aids and adaptions
