Baildon Medical Practice is a friendly, high performing Practice with over 10000 patients.

We are recruiting for a Care Co-ordinator / Receptionist to join our busy team working 25 hours per week. Working hours are 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 6:00pm and will be based on a rota of covering morning and afternoon shifts.

Duties will include reception and administration.

Main duties of the job

Patient Interaction: Greet and assist patients in accessing appropriate services or healthcare professionals in a courteous and efficient manner. Handle patient enquiries and provide information about services.

Appointment Management: Book, modify, and cancel patient appointments using electronic systems. Ensure that patients are informed about their appointments and any necessary procedures.

Administrative Duties: Undertake a variety of administrative tasks, including patient registration, processing information (both electronic and hard copy), and managing patient records. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations.

Communication: Act as a central point of contact for patients, liaising with clinical staff, external agencies, and other healthcare providers. Ensure effective communication within the multidisciplinary team.

Reception Duties: Maintain a tidy and organised reception area, manage the flow of patients, and ensure that all necessary forms and information are readily available. Handle telephone enquiries promptly and courteously ensuring high standards of service delivery and patient care.

Training and Support: Keep up to date with mandatory training modules.

Support the practice management team in various tasks as required.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths

Desirable

Experience in a fast paced environment Experience of speaking to patients/service users/customers Experience of using IT systems

Experience Essential

Experience of working in a GP Surgery Familiarity with medical software system (SystmOne) and general office software is required.

Desirable

Numeracy Skills Verbal communication skills ability to deal with people in person and on the telephone Verbal reasoning skills
