We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Staff Nurses to join our Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Service. This is a meaningful opportunity to support individuals at a critical point in their recovery journey, offering care that is safe, collaborative and person-centred.

Job description Job responsibilities

In addition to managing the clinical aspects of being a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you will take an active part in the assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for service users in collaboration with inpatient multi-disciplinary services. You will be liaising with colleagues and carers, ensuring they are fully aware of all aspects of a service users care and treatment. You will have effective communication skills and be able to contribute towards patient recovery and wellbeing. You will be able to identify individuals' care needs. You will be planning, implementing and evaluating care plans and risk assessments in collaboration with other teams and professionals. You will be maintaining lines of communication with all departments and staff involved in a service users care. Reporting on progress and effectiveness to the appropriate MDT.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

RMN\Dip (Mental Health) Live registration with NMC Mentorship & Preceptorship after one year

Desirable

Appropriate post registration qualification Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

Skills\knowledge Essential

Detailed knowledge of legislation and practise guidelines concerning Adult Acute Mental Health Ability to develop professional relationships with staff, service users and all other stakeholders Ability to lead and motivate others Provision of effective clinical supervision Excellent communications skills - written, verbal and able to complete computer data entry and recording Good team worker, able to demonstrate organisational skills Awareness of budgetary needs of the service

Desirable

Ability to participate in training of others - students and other team members Working with people detained under the Mental Health Act (1983)

Ability to identify priorities of service and the need to deliver a high standard of care Ability to demonstrate flexibility in approach to solutions of service needs
