Job summary
To support the nursing team in the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.
The nursing associate has a breadth of knowledge across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person-centred care and support for people of all ages. This role will assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education. In addition, the nursing associate will be expected to support the administrative team on an as required basis.
Main duties of the job
Be responsible for delivering high quality, patient-centred, compassionate care under the leadership and direction of a practice nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on setting)
To support the practice nurse, implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for chronic disease patients
To support both well woman and well man clinics
To support vaccination programmes for adults and children (child immunisations, travel immunisations etc)
To provide wound care (ulcer/Doppler etc.) to patients
To provide support during minor operations as required
To provide injection services for prescribed medications (B12, prostap etc).

We are a whole team of about 70 individuals, working across 2 sites in Worle. We have a nursing team of 7 Practice Nurses and 4 health care assistants. Our clinical team comprises of 2 GP partners and 8 salaried GPs, supported by 4 ANPs and 2 paramedics.

Experience of working in a primary care environment
Qualifications Essential
Registered Nursing Associate and on the NMC register Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification GCSE Grade A-C in Maths and English or skills level 2 Maths and English or equivalent
Skills Desirable
Cervical cytology Phlebotomy Wound Care Injection techniques
