We are recruiting for a Superintendent Radiographer within the treatment planning team who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC) is one of Europe's leading and largest cancer treatment centres. External Beam radiotherapy equipment comprises of seven linear accelerators including four Truebeam units, two Halcyon and an Ethos linear accelerator all with Hypersight and IDENTIFY. This technology supports a comprehensive stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) and adaptive radiotherapy programme Pre treatment includes two dedicated CT simulators with the most recent installation a Siemens SOMATOM go.Open Pro. Treatment planning is performed on the Eclipse treatment planning system.A High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy suite is also situated at the cancer centre with a dedicated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner.
The Radiotherapy department is operational routinely between 8am-7pm Monday - Friday including bank holidays.
In addition, you will receive a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,870and a maximum payment of £6,137per annum pro rata.

Main duties of the job
As part of the treatment planning leadership team you will act as a clinical expert and line manager for radiographers in treatment planning.
To act as a clinical expert within treatment planning.
To partake in lead in developing new techniques in treatment planning
To be a member of the treatment planning management team.
The post holder is required to undertake a specialist managment role within the treatment planning team, areas of management expertise could include staff training and development, quality system, audit, clinical trials.
To act as an expert in the field of treatment planning for radiotherapy.
To be available to take a lead in the design of new radiotherapy planning techniques.

Qualifications / Training Essential
DCR(T) / BSc. in Therapeutic Radiography Evidence of further study i.e. MSc modules Expert clinical knowledge
Previous Experience Essential
Evidence of experience in a supervisory capacity Variety of experiences as a radiographer in all aspects of treatment and pre-treatment areas Experience as a band 7 radiographer Evidence of implementation of change (for example a new technique or a new way of working) Planning and checking of a wide range of treatment sites
Desirable
Worked in more than one department
Skills Essential
