Main duties of the job
Assessing and advising on the needs of women, birthing people, partners, families, and carers and providing emotional support during all stages of pregnancy and postnatal care Planning, delivering and evaluating standards of evidence-based midwifery care.
Supporting women and birthing people in both the midwifery led unit and home environments.
Recognising deterioration in the in the physical or mental condition of a patient and taking appropriate action/ escalation and managing emergencies.
In times of high acuity members of the MLU/Home birth team may be escalated to assist our community midwives with their day-to-day activities.

We are really excited about the opportunity to invite an experienced midwife to apply to join our MLU and homebirth teams. The successful candidate will be based out of one of our midwifery led units and offer the entire spectrum of midwifery care from the antenatal period, through intrapartum care through to postnatal. We are keen for midwives that have a passion for promoting physiological birth and wish to develop as confident, autonomous practitioners.
In return, we will provide specialist training both in house and through collaboration with local universities to promote your individual professional development as we recognise the importance of lifelong learning.
You will be well supported with a bespoke induction and training package by members of our specialist Practice Development Team who will ensure your support as you transition to your new role both professionally and personally. The successful candidate will be supported and encouraged to seek educational opportunities to further their Continuing Professional Development and career progression. We are a trust which actively supports and encourages lifelong learning and development and we are very keen to support you to achieve your full potential with us. Statutory Registration Essential
Must be a NMC registrant
Qualifications Essential
Registered midwife with valid NMC registration
Desirable
NIPE Practitioner. Have completed an approved mentorship course. Professional Midwifery Advocate.
Special Requirements Essential
Must have a valid Full UK driving licence
Experience Essential
Band 6 midwife with relevant experience providing intrapartum care.
Desirable
Experience providing intrapartum care in the home.
