About this role

Job summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, IT literate, forward thinking and quality aware individual to join our expanding GP Surgery as a GP Receptionist (Patient Care Co-ordinator).

We are looking for a candidate to work the shift below (if you cannot work the entirety of the shift below please do not apply):

Tuesday 8am to 1pm & 2pm to 6:30pm and Friday 8am to 1pm & 2pm to 6:30pm. Total of 19.5hrs per week.

Please do not apply if you cannot work the entirety of the shift above, as due to surgery business opening hours we are unable to negotiate the shift times.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual who can work in a busy, demanding environment and offer effective communication and assistance to our patients and entire practice team.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Greet and welcome patients in a warm and professional manner.Offer general assistance to the Practice Team and patients.Project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone & email.Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice.Facilitate effective communication between patients, managerial team and the clinical team.

Overview of your organisation

We are a large, suburban practice in Cheylesmore, Coventry near to the City Centre.

We have 14,500 registered patients, we are also a training practice for GP's, Nurses and Physician Associates.

We have 7 GP's,1 Clinical Pharmacists, 1 Paramedic Practitioner, 1 HCA and 1 Nurse Practitioner.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential. Strong data entry skills with attention to detail. Excellent organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively. Competent typing skills. Exceptional phone etiquette with strong communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.

Desirable

Proven experience in a GP surgery or busy administrative role is preferred.
