About this role

Job summary

We are looking for a well-organised, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Children's Services team as Lead Medical Secretary for the Paediatric Service. This post will include a wide range of duties including medical secretary duties, sickness and performance managing and overall leadership of the medical secretarial team.We are looking for a strong candidate who will not only manage the team but also support with all services across paediatrics and provide cross cover and support to all teams and those who work within them.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the line management and supervision of a team of medical secretarial staff and to ensure a cost-effective and efficient secretarial and administrative service. To provide full secretarial support to the consultants within Paediatrics. To act as a role model for other members of the team.

Qualifications Essential

Educated to degree level or NVQ level 4 or equivalent Customer Service/ Business Admin /ITQ or equivalent professional experience RSA III or equivalent qualification or experience/skills

Secretary qualification or equivalent Team leader/management qualification Specific technical/professional qualification (if applicable)

Experience Essential

Experience of managing staff/a busy clerical/office environment or reception service or project Secretarial and /or complex administrative experience Prioritising, planning and organising own and others tasks Experience of dealing with difficult situations and confrontations Data entry experience and documentation
