Job summary
We are seeking an exceptional Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our Gynaecological Clinical Oncology service. This key role focuses on delivering high-quality on-treatment and follow-up clinics, providing autonomous, patient-centred care within a specialist multidisciplinary team.You will be a dynamic and forward-thinking clinician with advanced practice experience in oncology, motivated to drive service improvement in line with the NHS Long Term Plan. The role includes optimising outpatient pathways, enhancing continuity of care, and supporting personalised follow-up models for women with gynaecological cancers.We are looking for an ANP who embraces innovation and digital health, including virtual clinics and remote monitoring, to modernise care delivery and improve access.This is a unique opportunity to lead change and shape the future of gynaecological oncology services at one of the world's leading cancer centres.
Main duties of the job
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Gynae-oncology will integrate into the gynaecology team ensuring the following tasks and responsibilities are consistently met to a high standard:
Routine management of clinical-oncology in-patient and out-patient areas, in collaboration with the medical team. Follow-up care post completion of primary treatment Advanced clinical assessment, initiation of care and treatment, and monitoring of disease progression and efficacy of treatment. Act as a highly specialised role model and leader for all members of staff Play a major role in the continuous development of the services within the Trust and as a potential member of a range of trust patient experience/ quality/process improvement project groups.

Routine management of clinical-oncology in-patient and out-patient areas, in collaboration with the medical team. Follow-up care post completion of primary treatment To be professionally and legally accountable for all work undertaken and to practice at an advanced level of professional autonomy and accountability that is within national gynaecological cancer guidelines, Royal Marsden Trust policies and NMC Codes of Conduct. Prescribe medication as appropriate for your relevant scope of practice. To act as clinical expert both outside and within the Trust. This will involve dissemination of specialist skills and knowledge to others To deal with highly complex, sensitive information and be able to communicate this information in a professional but compassionate manner to patients and families To develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge of the gynae-oncology speciality which is evidence based and aiming to achieve a best practice principle. To take responsibility for monitoring ones own SCOPE of professional practice in order to demonstrate competence.
Person Specification
Education & Qualifications Essential
First level registration First level degree in relevant specialty MSc or actively working towards in relevant subject Relevant formal teaching / mentoring experience Evidence of continued professional development Post Registration qualification in cancer nursing Non-medical prescribing qualification Advanced physical assessment qualification
Experience Essential
Significant post-registration experience in surgery, e.g., experience as an ANP or CNS preferably with gynaecology/oncology experience
Desirable
Demonstrable experience in a range of cancer care settings Pelvic examination
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge Essential
