We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Altcourse a category B Prison located in Fazakerley, Liverpool.

HMP Altcourse is the busiest remand prison in the country, so there's lots going on in this exciting, varied role, where you will gain valuable experience, and no 2 days are ever the same! You will be based across multiple areas of the prison, including the healthcare department, planned care services, prison wings, and emergency response and a background ideally in A&E and long term conditions. HMP Altcourse offers: Onsite parking Career & development opportunities Hours:

Monday - Sunday service - 22.5 hours per week 7am - 3pm or 1pm - 8pm over 3 days 1 weekend in 3 2 months in advance rota Very occasional nights Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £34,428 - £41,658 per annum FTE which will be pro rota - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Primary Care Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will

Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team. Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning. Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams. Qualifications required:

Registered nurse Adult - NMC Evidence of Continued Professional Development Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working A non-judgmental and compassionate approach Excellent communication skills Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
