We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our team at HMP Whatton.

This is an great opportunity for an SMS worker join our healthcare team to deliver an outstanding service and support the substance misuse healthcare team. Hours Monday - Friday: core office hours

Salary This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £45,000 per annum.

Main duties of the job As our new Senior Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, you will:

Be working with other members of the team that you are part of, assessing needs of patients and assessing risks accordingly. Provide management and supervision to the Substance Misuse Recovery Worker Provide outstanding evidence based care to a case load of psycho social patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. You will provide a programme of psycho social interventions, along with information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices. Deliver non-judgemental care on a one to one basis and through group work, supporting the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care within healthcare centres and on wings and house blocks. Youll make a real difference as defined throughout our bespoke HiJ competency framework following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding. Evidence of CPD Relevant degree/qualification or equivalent experience SMART Recovery experience / completed training Knowledge and experience in the provision of structured psycho social interventions Experience of working within the substance misuse multi-disciplinary frame work, that includes housing, social care, healthcare, and mental health pathways A non-judgmental and compassionate approach Excellent communication skills Secure environments are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work.
