Bedfordshire Community Health Services are looking for a full time band 6 Occupational Therapist to work within the Community Therapy team based in North Bedfordshire to support with making a positive impact on people lives through the D2A pathway.
Main duties of the job
You need to be responsive, have strong assessment skills with a personalised approach for a wide range of needs/conditions. You will then develop, implement, manage and review the planned recommendations.You will need skills in moving and handling, risk assessing and identifying solutions to reduce risk.
You will work closely alongside all members of the therapy team, as well as the wider multi-disciplinary workforce across Bedfordshire, building close links with professionals and services required to wrap around the needs of each individual to provide a holistic approach.
You will line manage and supervise qualified and unqualified staff within the team, supporting them to provide an excellent level of service to the local population. There is also an expectation to support student placements with opportunities to mentor OT apprentices.

Qualifications Essential
OT/PT Degree Registered with HCPC Community experience using a range of assessments Experience with adults with various complex presentations Use of SOAP notes for documentation Knowledge of mental health conditions that can affect physical conditions Evidence of CPD Ability to work under pressure

Has an understanding of the changes within the NHS Member of RCOT/CSP Previous experience working within D2A Able to work autonomously Aware of own limitations and how to safely risk assess Committed to team and personal development
Communication Essential
Excellent communication skills Able to encourage patients and staff Engage em-pathetically with patients To reflect on work and identify areas of improvment
