We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Full Sutton, a Category A high security prison located in Pocklington. HMP Full Sutton has capacity of around 600 men, and houses those serving long term sentences.

This role sits within our Primary Care team, where you will support with clinics, work with pharmacy and respond to emergency situations - no 2 days are ever the same! Hours

This position is part time working 22.5 hours per week on a 4 week rolling rota basis.

You will work 3 x 7.5 hour shifts between 7am - 7:15pm, with around 1 in 4 weekends. There are no night shifts Salary

You will receive an annual salary of between up to £29,723 per annum FTE depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages, phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients care Support the primary care nursing team with all aspects of care, including venepuncture Support clinics, including bloods, ECGs, weight etc Support receptions (new prisoners entering HMP Full Sutton) Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required You will primarily be working within the primary care team, although may be required to carry out duties in the substance misuse team If you are interested in career development, we have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience, which include both internal and external options for development and learning.

Our new Healthcare Assistant will: Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or Care Certificate Have experience within phlebotomy - this is highly desirable!
