We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Millsike, a brand new state of the art Category C male prison in Full Sutton. HMP Millsike has capacity of nearly 1500 males, and houses inmates within 2 years of their release date.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team, and work in a varied environment, where you will gain experience across primary care, including emergency response, working on the wings, clinics, health promotion, and more! No 2 days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding and supportive environment.
Hours:
This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, working on a fortnightly rota. We deliver healthcare 7 days per week.
Shifts are 07:30 - 20:00 on weekdays, and 08:15 - 18:00 on weekends.
You will work alternate weekends, but there are no night shifts!
Salary:
This position is full time , youll receive an annual salary of up to £29,723 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
Working within the primary care team, you will work with Nurses and Nursing Associates across the service Run health clinics on the wings and in the healthcare department. Clinics include bloods, wound care and health promotion Assist with clinical observations, vaccination clinics etc Provide outstanding quality based care to all patients Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics Support the nursing and pharmacy teams onsite Assist with release and discharge when needed If you are interested in career development, we have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience, which include both internal and external options for development and learning.

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:
Have experience within a care environment - ideally primary care Experience of bloods (venepuncture/phlebotomy), ECGs etc would be a bonus Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team Hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or Care Certificate Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach Secure environments are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work.
