Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT)- Health Visitor
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and committed professional to join the DHCFT Safeguarding Team, as a Derby City MACPT Health Visitor, on a secondment basis, 37.5 hours per week, based within Council House.
You will work as part of a dynamic multi agency integrated team, contributing to a high quality and efficient safeguarding assessment process for children and families in Derby City. This role will involve attending strategy meetings and completing joint home visits to families to form part of the assessment process for social care.
The role will be to enhance information sharing and to work across organisational boundaries to promote the welfare of individuals, families and communities.
We are looking for an experienced professional with a Health Visitor background who has a sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children processes and current legislation, with post qualification experience within their specialist practice area of work and experience of Think Family principles.
Applicants require exceptional communication skills to operate in this post.

Main duties of the job
This exciting opportunity has been developed in conjunction with the Family First partnership, it aims to strengthen the assessment process for children and families in Derby City when there is a need for section 17 or 47 assessments following strategy meetings.
The MACPT Health Visitor will complete joint visits with social workers and will need to liaise with our local NHS providers including GP's in order to provide as much of a health perspective as possible to aid the decision-making process to safeguard Children
The MACPT Health Visitor will be available Monday - Friday 9-5 (excluding bank holidays).
The MACPT Health Visitor will work alongside Social care, Police and Education in regard to reviewing domestic abuse incidents.
The MACPT Health Visitor is employed by Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust and managed and supervised by the Family First Strategic Health Lead for Derby city.

The MACPT Health Visitor will work in collaboration with partner agencies.
The MACPT Health Visitor will work alongside the MASH Health Advisors and a MACPT Mental health worker, therefore being able to work dynamically within a small team is essential.
The sensitive and complex nature of Safeguarding Children work demands a high level of support, both to staff and organisations and the MACPT Health Visitor and the team endeavours to provide this.
Working within the safeguarding arena is recognised to be stressful and highly emotive in nature.

The MACPT Health Visitor will work in collaboration with multi-agency partners to promote effective information sharing and assessment to contribute to the safeguarding of children and their families.
Understand and interpret national and local safeguarding policies and guidance to inform practice.
Provide expert professional advice and support to staff in relation to safeguarding children and adults at risk.
Utilise expert specialist knowledge and experience to identify risks and issues with regards to the functions of the integrated team to facilitate resolution and/or escalation processes.
Analyse and interpret complex, highly confidential and sensitive information with experience of communicating, liaising and advising across a range of services and organisations.
Own specialist organisational, procedural and policy knowledge in relation to all aspects of safeguarding children.
Be accountable for own professional actions.
Apply specialist safeguarding knowledge acquired over a significant period in order to understand the complexities of a multi-agency landscape.
Demonstrate professional leadership and be able demonstrate the ability to professionally challenge where necessary.
Be familiar with and able to apply statutory requirements to clinical practice, for example, The Healthy Child programme, GDPR and the Children Act.

Attainments/Qualifications Essential
Current NMC Registration with SCPHN HV qualification Evidence of continued professional development Evidence of undertaking Level 3 Safeguarding Children courses/training
Knowledge & Experience Essential
Previous experience working Clinically in a health visitor setting. Working with a range of multi-agency partners for example police, social workers etc. Relevant experience of working with vulnerable families initiating safeguarding children. Understanding of working with complex family and challenging situations. Sound knowledge and understanding of 'Think Family' principles and practice. Leading safeguarding practice across own discipline/service area including advising on complex situations relating to children at risk
Special Demands of Post Essential
Ability to travel within and outside organisational boundaries to attend meetings and support staff.
Skills Essential
Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation including The Healthy Child Programme, Children Act and Data Protection Act. Excellent IT skills across various EPR Systems within health
