About this role
What you will do IMEC performs world-leading research in nano-electronics, operating a diverse equipment set of most advanced semiconductor wafer processing models. To improve and further roll out our CIM application landscape, we have started the Smart Fab initiative in 2024. Smart Fab is not only about simplification of manual work, it also will deliver more insight into capacity utilization, as well as product quality. You will become part of this journey in a growing team, providing opportunities in an exciting environment. As a member of our Smart Fab team, you will closely work with business analysts and software developers for our equipment integration solution. You will be supported by dedicated test engineers. You will receive industry specific training and can rely on experienced teammates. You perform the crucial task of analyzing how our equipment integration software platform can implement business requirements. The specifications to be passed on to internal and more often external developers can range from straightforward configuration to additional logic to be defined. Some business requirements will result in equipment integration being dependent on related configuration or even features to be implemented in adjacent applications, especially the MES. You thus will gain sufficient knowledge about adjacent CIM applications to effectively collaborate with their business analysts and functional analysts. You have an active role in test preparation and debugging. You will be supported by our PMO team during all phases of the software lifecycle. Who you are You have a master’s degree in engineering, exact sciences, or equal by experience. You bring 5 years or more of experience in a complex manufacturing environment, characterized by demanding processes, high product mix, and delicate materials. Prior experience in, or knowledge of, semiconductor manufacturing is a strong asset, preferably in a 300 mm Fab. You have participated in a CIM project, understanding concepts like the automation pyramid and equipment state engines, as well as standards like OPC or SECS. You have strong analytical skills and are solution oriented. You can challenge assumptions and question approaches. You can work independently and in a team. You do work diligently and are dependable. You feel comfortable in a complex environment. Since you will be working in a highly international environment and will be maintaining a good contact with colleagues and co-workers from all over the world, fluency in English is essential.
