Job summary
The CYP Mental Health Liaison team are an additional service within the CYP Urgent Care teams and work closely with the CAMHS Crisis and enhanced treatment service (CCETT) and the CYP Eating Disorder Service.
The role of the team is to support children and young people (CYP) accessing our medical areas at the hospital, including A&E, paediatrics, and the hospital wards at Lincoln County hospital (LCH) and Pilgrim hospital Boston. (PHB) with a priority of timely face-to-face assessments as well as well as support YP admitted to a ward with a mental health need. We are also building links with ULHT teams with a view to improved joint working and mental health training to their staff.
Shifts will be 08.00am-8:00 pm. You will work closely with other CYP Urgent Care services to provide care and support to CYP in ULHT, implement care plans and support treatment packages. An interest in working with CYP with eating difficulties is essential and training will be provided in post. You will also support the Band 6 Practitioners with responding to referrals and supporting assessments.

Main duties of the job
To work within the policies, protocols and clinical procedures of Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and to promote competent working practice within an integrated multi-disciplinary team.
To liaise with the registered practitioners and carry out assigned duties as a member of the multi- disciplinary mental health team.
To be supported to work on own initiative as necessary and report to the team.
Promote equality for all patients and understand their health needs and carry out physical health checks when necessary.
Demonstrate an awareness of service user and carer perspectives on the provision of treatment and continuing care.
Ensure accurate record keeping in accordance with Trust policy.
Participate regularly in management and clinical supervision sessions.
Liaise with representatives from associated voluntary and statutory organisations and facilitate good communication processes.
To work with service users to promote independence, maximising daily living skills.
Always act in a manner as to promote and safeguard the interests and well-being of patients.
Actively promote a responsible caring attitude at all times, treating all patients with dignity and respect.
To report any incident which does not comply with Trust policy regarding incident reporting.
To work flexibly within CAMHS MH liaison team and CCETT service.
To work across LPFT and ULHT hospital wards to promote MH education.

Qualifications Essential
oCavendish Care Certificate or willingness to work towards resourced by LPFT oNVQ 3 in Care or equivalent
Desirable
oTraining in mental health awareness or any other training relevant to this post.
Experience Essential
oPrevious relevant experience working with people with mental health problems at a nursing assistant grade or equivalent within a health and social care setting oKnowledge of risk assessment principles oExperience in providing support for people in the community or inpatient with mental health needs

oExperience in providing support for children and young people oExperience of working with people with mental health needs in a crisis
