We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join the Hampshire & IOW Multiagency Personality Service (HMAPS). This post is offered at either Band 8a or Band 7 with a preceptorship leading to Band 8a on successful completion.

We are a specialised community service commissioned by NHS England (NHSE) and His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS). The service comprises of the Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway and Intensive Interventions and Risk Management (IIRMS) service lines.

The service also provides consultation to NHS teams working with individuals likely to have personality disorder / identified personality difficulties and are at high risk of harm to others/offending. Main duties of the job

HMAPS is a psychologically led multidisciplinary team providing psychological formulation, consultation, and training to the National Probation Service within Hampshire, to support the probation staff with formulation-based psychological ways of working with people under probation supervision who have personality difficulties linked to their offending behaviour.

Intervention aims to expedite the care pathway of offenders in the community and prisons. The aim is to ensure that intervention and management is psychologically informed through both training and supervision. There is a strong focus on provision of training to enhance psychological understanding across the workforce.

The service is based in Ravenswood House, Fareham, but the work is delivered in a range of NHS and non-NHS (e.g., Probation offices) premises across Hampshire. There is a strong commitment to professional development and an understanding that regular clinical supervision and reflective practice is central to the role.

We are looking for either an experienced Clinical/Forensic Psychologist (Band 8a), a Band 7 with the competencies and experience to apply for 8a, or someone who is looking for a development opportunity as part of a preceptorship (Band 7 developing into Band 8a).

The successful applicant will be required to pass Probation Vetting procedures as part of pre-employment checks.
