Job summary
The Kingfisher Mother and Baby Unit is looking for a parent infant therapist to join our team. This role involves providing specialist parent infant interventions to mother and babies on the ward, working alongside and supporting the nursery nurse team, and offering reflective spaces to the wider clinical team, to help 'hold the baby in mind'. The Kingfisher Mother and Baby Unit is a specialist 8 bed in-patient ward, which cares for women in the last trimester of pregnancy or within baby's first year of life, who are experiencing serious mental illness. We are one of three regional units in the East of England; the ward opened in 2019 and has received accreditation status from the Royal College of Psychiatry. It has a rich multi-disciplinary team and prides itself on its high-quality clinical care. This is a great opportunity to join our team in this important role.
Main duties of the job
The post holder would offer therapeutic interventions to mothers and babies, drawing on evidence-based interventions such as video interactive guidance, circle of security, mentalization work and brief psychodynamic interventions. Specialist clinical supervision will be provided. You would be part of a wider therapies team, which includes a clinical psychologist, assistant psychologist, occupational therapist and lead nursery nurse. The post holder would be asked to contribute to multi-disciplinary discussions and ward rounds and to offer reflective spaces to staff.
There are links with the wider community perinatal services and our Norfolk Parent and Infant Relationship service (PAIRS).

We are part of the clinical provider collaborative for mother and baby units and are constantly seeking to develop and enhance our clinical offer.
The MBU is part of a wider collaborative of perinatal services across Norfolk and Suffolk which includes community perinatal mental health teams, maternal mental health services and parent infant relationship services. We have links with local healthy child services and children's social care.

Qualifications Essential
A relevant core profession A masters in psychotherapy and registration with either UKCP or BACP. Adult psychotherapists must meet category 3 requirements on the SCoPEd Framework. Child Psychotherapists must meet level 2 or 3 standards on the AIMH Fully trained in two or more psychological interventions prescribed in the psychological therapies guidance for perinatal mental health framework - EMDR, IPT, CTfD, VIG, CoS

A psychotherapy supervision qualification.
Experience Essential
Must have clinical experiencing of working with mothers, babies, infants and families in a clinical capacity The candidate must have prior experience of working with adults with mental health difficulties Experience of offering brief psychodynamic psychotherapeutic clinical work Experience of working with hard to engage families with complex needs Experience of working in multi-professional teams and collaborating on treatment plans
