Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a flexible and motivated individual to join the Acute Medicine Business Unit as a Medical Secretary.

We are looking for an efficient and competent secretary to provide full secretarial and administrative support to the Team.

Working in a challenging and constantly changing environment, you will need to have excellent administrative, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to possess the ability to multitask at a high level, pay close attention to detail and work on your own initiative. You will need to be able to demonstrate the skills required to manage the workload in a proactive and effective manner.

Derby Acute Medicine Business Unit incorporates the dynamic and specialised areas of the Emergency Department, Acute Medical Assessment Unit, Short Stay and Same Day Emergency Care.

Main duties of the job

To organise and minute internal and external meetings/case conferences. Arrange hospitality, Travel and audio visual equipment and any requirements as appropriate using online booking systems. Use of Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings. Communicate with all members of the multi-disciplinary team including GPs, Nurses, managers and other medical staff. To audio type and distribute letters and correspondence ensuring working in line with Trust KPIs. To work as part of a team, covering for others when required due to sickness or absence.
