About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Practitioner or Prescribing Paramedic to join our friendly, supportive and dedicated team.

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, motivated and a flexible team player to join our Practice.

This position is for between 20 - 30 hours per week - negotiable to suit the right candidate.

Responsibilities include clinical assessment & examination of adults and children, diagnosis, treatment, evaluation of their care, management and further referral as required. Consultations may be face-to-face, telephone or on-line.

We are dedicated to the growth of our clinicians to expand their clinical skills. Regular clinical discussions and team meetings ensure a supportive working environment.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for a number of clinical areas including triage; diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions; prescribe medications in a safe and effective manner; order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood tests, X-rays, ECGs etc.; and support the team in dealing with medical emergencies.

To lead and support with clinical decision-making within the team.

Participate in audits and research to improve patient outcomes.

Clinically assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions for both adults and children.

Triage clinical requests.

Prescribing of medication in line with Practice prescribing formulary, review its' effectiveness and make appropriate adjustments to treatment.

Maintain accurate clinical records.

Work as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Experience of working in a clinical environment e.g., acute care. Experience of working autonomously.

Desirable

Experience of working in primary care. Previous experience as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Practitioner or Prescribing Paramedic.

Qualifications Essential

Independent Nurse Prescriber (or equivalent) with valid NMC registration Prescribing Paramedic with valid registration

Desirable

Post graduate diploma or degree (Nurse Practitioner) Masters degree in Advanced Clinical Practice (Advanced Nurse Practitioner) Independent Non-Medical Prescriber qualification
