About this role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and student-focused Mental Health Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) to join our Social Work and Health Care Apprenticeships Department. You will support learners to develop safe, evidence-informed and person-centred practice, with mental health perspectives embedded meaningfully across their learning. If you are passionate about supporting the future nursing workforce, this is the perfect role for you.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant, learner-focused institution committed to high-quality education that prepares apprentices for contemporary professional practice. You will play a key role in helping learners develop confidence, critical thinking and professional capabilities within an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Your teaching will be predominantly within our NMC-approved Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship, with a particular focus on mental health nursing. You will contribute to the design, delivery and assessment of modules across the programme, while also supporting teaching across other levels, routes and programmes within the department according to need. The role will include academic and pastoral support, assessment and feedback, practice-related learning, digital learning and curriculum development. You will also support apprentices to evidence their off-the-job training, monitor their progress towards Apprenticeship Assessment , and work collaboratively with employers and external partners to maintain apprenticeship compliance and a high-quality learner experience.

We welcome applications from candidates with academic or practice-based experience who are passionate about supporting learners from diverse backgrounds. Whether you are an experienced lecturer or a practitioner transitioning into higher education, we are committed to supporting your professional development within an ambitious and supportive environment.
