This role is located in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Serve as BNY’s senior on-the-ground representative for the Indonesia Representative Office, helping strengthen BNY’s presence in the local market and supporting enterprise-wide engagement in a compliant and effective manner. • Act as a key local connector for offshore business leaders by providing insights on market developments, commercial sentiment, stakeholder priorities, and the broader financial services environment in Indonesia. • Build and maintain senior relationships with clients, market participants, industry bodies, counterparties, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance BNY’s market connectivity and strategic dialogue. • Support offshore lines of business by identifying relevant trends, risks, and opportunities in Indonesia, enabling more informed decision-making and more targeted market engagement. • Help connect Indonesia market dynamics with BNY’s global product, service, and relationship strategies, serving as a catalyst for collaboration across geographies and teams. • Ensure all activities conducted through the representative office remain within the scope of applicable regulatory permissions, local legal requirements, and BNY’s internal policies and standards. • Maintain timely and accurate local regulatory filings and serve as a key coordination point for local regulatory matters, internal governance requirements, audits, and control-related reviews. • Coordinate and support in-country activities involving offshore teams, including senior leadership visits, stakeholder meetings, and other approved representative office activities, with strong attention to local context and execution excellence. • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the representative office, including local vendors, facilities, budgets, and administrative support, while fostering a culture of professionalism, integrity, and inclusion. • Represent BNY with sound judgment, credibility, and discretion as the senior-most representative in-country, while operating within the defined boundaries of a non-commercial representative office model. To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; advanced degree preferred. • Significant experience in financial services, with strong exposure to international banking, market development, strategic relationship management, and cross-border stakeholder engagement. • Strong understanding of the Indonesian financial services market, regulatory environment, and local business landscape, with the ability to translate market insight into strategic value for global teams. • Demonstrated ability to build trusted senior-level relationships internally and externally, while operating effectively in a complex, highly matrixed, and multicultural organization. • Proven experience exercising sound judgment in regulated environments, with a strong focus on governance, controls, compliance, and reputation management. • Strong commercial acumen paired with a clear understanding of role boundaries in a representative office structure; ability to enable and support offshore teams without directly engaging in prohibited commercial execution activities. • Excellent communication, coordination, and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, manage multiple stakeholders, and drive disciplined follow-through. • High integrity, energy, humility, and a hands-on approach, with the credibility and presence to represent BNY effectively in the local market. • Prior experience managing or representing a foreign financial institution in Indonesia, or in a comparable regulated market-facing leadership role, is highly advantageous. • Experience leading local office operations and mentoring or overseeing administrative or small in-country support teams is preferred.
