Job summary We are looking for a confident Maintenance Assistant to carry out a range of day-to-day maintenance tasks in order to ensure the hospital is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order, making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Cygnet Hospital Harrow. You will be working 37.5 hours a week (Monday Friday) (8am 4pm) or (9am 5pm)

Your Day-to-Day...
Carry out general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, and painting
Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and resolve issues promptly
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner
Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations
Support the maintenance team with planned preventative maintenance schedules
Assist with moving and setting up equipment, furniture, and rooms as required
Maintain accurate records of completed work and report any major repair needs
Ensure a safe environment, particularly considering the needs of vulnerable patients
Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards
Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights
You are...
Experienced in a similar role, or have previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, or handyman role
Basic knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrics, general repairs)
Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information
Skilled at DIY & general maintenance
Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude.
