Salaried GP Vacancy
Avenham Surgery is seeking to recruit an experienced and compassionate Salaried General Practitioner to join our growing multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a GP looking for a flexible, supportive, and forward-thinking organisation with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
We are looking for a dedicated clinician to work 4 sessions per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays), providing comprehensive medical services to our registered patient population. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care, while contributing to service development and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Main duties of the job
As a Salaried GP, you will play a crucial role in the provision of primary healthcare services, including:
Undertaking surgery consultations in a variety of formats (e.g. face-to-face and telephone)
Responding to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment, and referral
Effective management of long-term conditions
Prescribing in line with local and national guidance
Checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with associated queries, paperwork, and correspondence
Supporting the training and development of medical students
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records

Avenham Surgery is a values-driven practice based in the urban heart of Preston, led by an enthusiastic management team. Caring for approximately 7,800 patients, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality care.
The successful candidate will join an established and supportive team comprising 3 partners, 2 sessional GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant, 1 Physician Associate, a Practice Pharmacist, and a Pharmacy Technician. We are part of the Preston North & East Primary Care Network.
