About this role
*About the role*
We are a busy cafe on Lawrence Ave E in Scarborough, Ontario (near Birchmount Rd), and we are looking for experienced baristas to join our team. Full-time and part-time positions are available. This role is for people who already know their way around an espresso machine and can work confidently during a rush.
*What you will do*
* Prepare espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas and specialty beverages to a consistent standard * Dial in espresso, steam and texture milk properly, and keep drink quality high during busy periods * Take orders, handle payments and give friendly, attentive service to every guest * Keep the bar, equipment and seating area clean, stocked and organized * Follow food safety and cleanliness standards at all times * Help with opening and closing duties as scheduled
*What we are looking for*
* At least 1 year of barista experience in a cafe or coffee shop (required) * Availability to work weekends and evenings (required) * Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to the cafe for every scheduled shift (required) * Strong customer service and communication skills * Ability to stay calm, quick and accurate in a fast-paced environment * Punctual, dependable and a good team player
