*Job Summary* We are seeking a skilled Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing various types of trailers and heavy equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently . The truck and Trailer Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards of safety and performance.
*Duties*
* Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tractor-trailers, including brake repair, alignment, and suspension work. * Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics. * Conduct repairs on diesel engines, air brakes, hydraulics, and HVAC systems. * Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for fabrication and assembly tasks. * Operate heavy equipment such as excavators and forklifts as needed for repairs. * Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on vehicles and equipment. * Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs. * Assist in training junior mechanics or service technicians as required.
*Skills*
* Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair and maintenance. * Proficiency in working with heavy machinery, including farm machinery and industrial equipment. * Familiarity with electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques. * Experience with transmission repairs, shocks & struts, tire service, and welding is highly desirable. * Ability to read schematics and perform fabrication tasks when necessary. * Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency. * Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties. * Previous dealership experience or service technician experience is a plus.
