Position Overview
We are seeking an *experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated elementary school teacher* to join our team.
The ideal candidate is passionate about education, confident teaching multiple subjects, and skilled at engaging students across different grade levels and learning abilities.
Teaching takes place *in person during morning hours, Monday through Thursday*, with additional responsibilities related to lesson planning, assessment, and student progress monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Ontario elementary school curriculum.
- Teach core elementary subjects, including Mathematics, English, Science, and Social Studies.
- Provide instruction to students across different grade levels in small-class settings.
- Develop and evaluate assignments, assessments, and learning activities.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying academic abilities and learning needs.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Support students completing independent coursework through our hybrid learning model.
- Maintain accurate student assessment and attendance records.
- Establish a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school administration.
Qualifications
- *Minimum 2 years of classroom teaching experience required*, preferably at the elementary school level.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario elementary school curriculum.
- Relevant post-secondary education in education or a related field.
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification is not required.
- Proven classroom management skills and ability to engage students effectively.
- Experience teaching students across different grade levels and academic abilities.
- Strong skills in lesson planning, assessment, and differentiated instruction.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small-school environment.
- Comfortable using technology and digital learning platforms.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check required.
